Commitment to the Credit Union Movement and other Cooperative Activities
US Federal Credit Union will work to build and strengthen the credit union movement by providing financial and in-kind resources to others within the credit union community, and by actively advocating the credit union difference at all levels of government and in other appropriate public forums. We will also participate in local, state and national cooperative activities as appropriate, and will strive to build and strengthen relationships with other sectors of the nation cooperative movement. Our current activities that support the credit union movement include:
- Membership in Minnesota Credit Union Network (MCUN) - We are an active member of MCUN. Our employees serve on a wide variety of industry and trade committees, often volunteering personal time and resources. We regularly contribute to multiple cooperative advertising programs.
- Founding and Sustaining Member of Filene Research Institute - The Institute conducts independent research on critical issues that affect credit unions today.
- Furthering the Credit Union Cause - We promote and financially support legislative activities on state and national levels that further the credit union cause.
- Supporting Smaller Credit Unions - We provide development support to numerous small credit unions with low- or no-interest deposits.
- Worldwide Credit Union Movement - We are supporters of the Credit Union Foundation's People-To-People Program that promotes credit union development across the globe.
Other cooperative activities also include:
- Member of the Credit Union Shared Service Center Network - This network provides cash services to members on a national basis.
- Support For Politicians Who Support Credit Unions - Many of our employees work in political campaigns for politicians who support credit union issues. We invite and encourage politicians to visit all of our facilities.
- Disaster and Flood Relief Fundraising - We fundraise and donate to assist credit unions and their members affected by disaster and/or flooding.
