Member Education

US Federal Credit Union is committed to member and consumer financial education. We are also committed to educating members and consumers alike about credit union uniqueness, philosophy and values. Our current programs that demonstrate these commitments include:

  • Learn-At-WorkSM Program - This comprehensive financial education program is made available to our partner companies free of charge.
  • Eastside Financial Center - Our St. Paul branch location offers specialized programs for local members and partners with Lutheran Social Services to help the community grow financially and individually.
  • Lutheran Social Service Financial Counseling - This counseling service provides members with debt management advice and assistance.
  • MoneyLine (Monthly Newsletter) - This newsletter covers credit union issues and financial education topics.
  • www.usfed.org - Members can visit our website to find many helpful interactive features such as financial calculators along with links that offer extensive consumer financial information and online discount brokerage services.
  • Youth Services - We employ guidelines that encourage young members (ages 13 - 17) to participate in membership options by promoting the responsible use of checking and credit services.
  • Employee Education - We have been nationally recognized for our deep commitment to employee education. In order to improve service to our members, we educate our employees through the following channels:
    • Comprehensive new employee orientation program
    • Weekly training sessions
    • Electronic education
    • Certified Credit Union Executive program
    • B.E.S.T University
    • Workshops and conferences at state and national level
  • Board Education - All board members are required to complete the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Programs (VAP) to enhance their knowledge on credit union philosophy and operations.
