LSS Financial Counseling Service


US Federal has partnered with LSS Financial Counseling service, a non-profit, educational resource that can help you take control of your finances.
As a benefit of your credit union membership you have access to up to six complementary sessions per year.

Choose from any of these confidential services to help you reach your financial goals:

  • Budget Counseling - Get out of debt and improve your money management or avoid bankruptcy - a counselor can help you design a realistic spending and savings plan.

  • Debt Management Plan - LSS counselors can review your income, living expenses and debt in detail and offer information and suggestions.They’ll help you consolidate your credit card payments, lower payment amounts, and often reduce interest rates and stop late fees. You can also receive coaching on debt issues such as delinquent rent or mortgage payments or past due utilities.

  • Credit Report Review - Creditors, employers, and others often use credit reports to assess a person’s financial fitness. A counselor will review your credit report with you, making sure you know all the important elements. Learn what affects your credit score and what you can do to improve it.

  • Financial Education - Prevent financial problems by educating yourself on issues such as money management, credit and investing. Relevant for all ages, financial literacy facilitates the opportunity for success.

  • Mortgage Counseling - A LSS HUD-approved housing counselor can help you make any necessary adjustments to your finances to help qualify you for the mortgage you need. They’ll also assist you in understanding the mortgage loan process so you’ll be ready when the time comes. If you are already a homeowner, you can receive assistance in preventing foreclosure.
